For anyone interested in more on Rappie Pie (http://people.uleth.ca/~runte/Meteghan/rappie.htm), there is now a Facebook group "Rappie Pie rules!" with lots of discussion on how to cook it, and so on.

Second letter from Kim

hello again Tigana!
I forgot to mention some very important facts to you. My father , Gerald LeBlanc is the one who re-painted all those beautiful pictures on the ceiling of St. Mary's Church in Church Point , N.S. (tallest wooden church in North America). I believe this was back in 1977 when church was redone. His picture is actually in a small booklet the church gives to visitors. I hope you have the booklet so you can see him atop all the scaffolding high up painting. It was exciting to go in there as a kid and watch him!
Also the A.F. Theriault Shipyard and the rivers that go there on the other side of the bridge is where my parents' house is. If you look to the Meteghan River on the other side of the bridge it divides into 2 tributaries. The one on the right only has 2 homes on it. My Dad's house, where I grew up is one of the two.
Also if you ever heard of a dance group of Acadian dancers from Clare called ''La Baie en Joie'' I was in the original group as a teenager. The group still exists today and can be seen on Nova Scotia Tourism Commercials dancing (usually in summertime this airs on tv). It is something I did that I am very proud of because not just any dancer was asked to be part of this group. I danced for the Premiers of Canada at their annual conference in Halifax when I was 14 or 15 and once at the Opening of the Canada Games in Nfld.

Just more fun facts for you!! Also sending you a pic of me and my dog Zoe taken on boardwalk in Annapolis Royal in Sept. 07 and a recent one of me this October. Also you will remember the one of Smugglers Cove in Meteghan as I'm sure you've been there. It's a very beautiful area!

Letter from Kim

hello Tigana,
My name is Kim Leblanc and myself and my whole family is from Meteghan. My work is as a Registered Nurse and I used to work a few years back at the nursing home in Meteghan called the ''Villa Acadienne'' (you may have seen it). I now live in the Annapolis Valley in another town full of Acadian culture called ''Annapolis Royal''. Hope you get to visit this town one day as well.
I just want to say I hope you enjoyed learning on the Acadian history. I have looked at your website and it is very impressive and fun!
Good for you little traveller!!
